Albatross and Moonbeams

In our lives, we meet people,
and we know not how they change our destiny.

The meeting cannot be fully understood.
Perhaps youths haste wastes the chance.

Perhaps self-doubt constrains our choice.
But time and space, across the years-reflection - brings a clarity to those events.

We begin to see the beauty in those people, of who they were and how they cared,
and in their way, how they loved us.

Through this revelation, we may feel regret.
Opportunities missed.

But we should not grieve as we reminisce on these events.
They are simply the sweet texture of our lives, well lived.

And those people mark the times when love touched our souls.
And you?

Meeting you,
was the moment when love came home.
