I saw the moon last night.
Fractional reflectivity of memories.
Shadowed shapes sculpted in the garden.

The celestial clarity of the night
matched the clarity of my thoughts.
But as the evening fell -

I had no idea who’d arrive to join my dream
so I left that to the moon –
returning reminisces.

She remembered you
another time -
another place.

Fractional reflectivity of memories.
Shadowed shapes sculpted in the garden -

softening this hardened world.

Matrika - Aotearoa 28th June Māori New Year - time to remember ancestors and look to the future. A favourite poem. Happy times in the garden amongst the shadows of the moon

For Moira.
