Soon Enough

it was all the same to children in the playground
watching her arrival

all the same to mourners in the graveyard
mourning her departure

places come and people go
the yearning comes

soon enough

I went to a small village school.
Right opposite the Church.
We would see processions - coming and going.
If it were a funeral - we weren’t allowed to use the play ground while the mourners arrived and then departed.

It was all the same to us - the coming and the going….we could use the other playground.

Life went on….we grew older -

the mourning came -

soon enough…
